Q: How much will I save at the pharmacy?

A. The percentage of savings varies, based on the manufacturer's wholesale price of the medication, and the price the pharmacy may charge for the medication on any given day. Both may change on a daily basis. To find out how much you will save at the pharmacy, you must present your Providence Plan ID card to the pharmacist along with your prescription and you will receive a specific price quote. Providence Plan's "Best Price Assurance" means that your actual cost will be the contracted price or the pharmacy's price on the day the prescription is filled, whichever is lower. Either way, you are guaranteed the lowest price available that day.

Savings are typically greater when you purchase your medications by mail. To find out how much you can save on medications you purchase by mail, simply call (800) 396-2219 with the name and dosage of the prescribed medication. While you're on the phone, you'll be told the lowest price available for your prescription when you order by mail.

Q: What is the difference between Providence Plan and Providence Plan Plus?
There are two levels of Providence Plan membership.

A: Providence Plan delivers savings on every day expenses such as dental care, eye glasses, prescriptions, chiropractic and hearing. The Plan also offers discounts on complementary and alternative medicines and therapies that are rarely covered by medical plans.

Providence Plan Plus allows families without a medical plan to seek health care from participating doctors, hospitals and clinics and not get stuck paying full retail cost for their care. Services are discounted 5% to 40% and shave hundreds-sometimes, even thousands-of dollars off the medical bill. In addition, Providence Plan Plus includes the savings benefits of the standard Providence Plan; savings on dental care, eye glasses, contacts and eye exams, prescription medications, chiropractic, hearing, and complementary/alternative medicines/therapies.
